SUV’s are showier and are a class apart, while Mini Vans are meant for people who are more pocket conscious. One important point to be noted is that Mini Vans are roomier than SUV’s. No doubt, they have more space to move and keep stuff.

An aspect, which is most of the times overlooked, is that moving from front to third row in a 7 seater SUV is a bit difficult since you might be required to do lots of juggling and skipping, so some people may have problems with it( specially old people) . Same is not the case with Mini Van. Almost all the Mini Vans provide a center aisle so people can easily walk up to the last row. In other words internal movement is easy and comfortable in Mini Van as compared to SUV.

A 7 seat SUV generally has dismal storage capacity at the back, but it is not the part with a Mini Van. They have good room for luggage, children stroller and stuff like that. That is the reason Mini Vans are mostly assumed to be multi-utility vehicle and more handy than SUV. One important aspect which many a people miss are that Mini Vans can take more people and are much easier to drive and park compared to SUVs.

The good part with SUV is that they are considered to be more powerful than Mini Vans, so in case you wish to tie and heave a trailer or boat for that matter, then SUV is the thing for you! Another advantage of buying SUV is that SUV is up in height compared to Mini Van so you tend to have upper and better view of other cars and traffic around you. SUVs have much better acceleration than Mini Vans. So if you like speed and control, go for SUV, but if you are more inclined for economy and comfort level, then Mini Van THE thing for you.

Other important point to note is that Mini Vans are not generally 4 wheel drive (barring few) while most SUVs are not. Compared to Mini Vans, SUV’s have bigger seats and more leg space hence they accommodate less person in general but more comfortable to sit. Big SUV is much comfortable on long trip, while Mini Van is more wielding comparatively. One last point, design and shape wise, SUV is more aerodynamic, but Mini Van is not. So take your call, which one to go for!
